Vulgarities can be replaced by civilised words.
It transmit the same meaning, but vulgarities have greater tendency to incite further disputes, make statements sound more like personal insults rather than rational comments.

And of course, the forums looks much better without vulgarities.
Go take a look at forums without proper censorship. =]
